The theme for this year is "Lift Each Other Up" and the Cadets Canada Team wants to ask Cadets what it means to "lift each other up" with a series of short Instagram reels.

Wear your Pink T-shirt /Hoodie on Tuesday. 😁👍

Reminder, this Thursday, 26 Jan, is the 2nd Cadet Fitness testing night. This is mandatory for Cadets to be eligible for promotion. Cadets are to wear appropriate Sports clothing including their Cadet Blue FTU T-shirt. Make sure you bring a pen as you will need to record your results and bring your water bottle.

This Thursday is Movie night at the Hollywood 3 in Pitt Meadows at 19190 Lougheed Highway Pitt Meadows, BC V3Y 1B3.

1. Do not come to the squadron.
2. Cadets need to arrive by 6pm. You should be done by 9pm or shortly thereafter.
3. Do not wear your uniform.
4. The Sponsoring Committee is paying for Admission, a pop and a popcorn. Anything else is at the Cadets own expense.

Sign-up for a chance to tour the HMCS Yellowknife on December 4

RCSU has been fortunate enough to secure a tour of HMCS Yellowknife on 4 DEC 2022 at 1100 hrs.  HMCS  Yellowknife will be docked in North Vancouver for a sail weekend.  Signing up is not a guarantee to go as we are sharing time slots with other units in the Lower Mainland. 

Cadets will be required to wear their uniform if it has been issued. Cadets who have not been issued a uniform are to dress appropriately with closed toe shoes. 

Cadets will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the event.  Due to the demand of the event, you will be contacted via EMAIL if you are selected to attend.  Please ensure that you can be reached in the email addresses below.

1. Don't forget about the Food Donation Flight Competition. The Flight with the most donations wins a free pizza party for one of their Flight nights. 

2. Cadet Code of Conduct Forms are due this Thursday. Parents and Cadets have to review, sign and return the forms to the Administration Officer. The info will be in the newsletter. 

3. The email with the information about our Coffee Fundraiser just came out. It was a separate newsletter, all the info is there.

We are kicking off our first fundraising event of We are kicking off our first fundraising event of the year. We have partnered with Global Coffee Fundraising, to sell coffee and hot chocolate to raise money for Cadet activities. We are selling 5 different types of coffee and  a specialty gourmet hot chocolate. The coffee is fresh and roasted in Maple Ridge for the 583 Squadron. Our goal is to raise $2,500 so sell to your family, friends, co-workers and neighbours! 

How It Works
All orders must be submitted and paid for by December 14
We make $5 off every bag sold
Supporters can purchase coffee online. They can choose to pay to have their coffee shipped directly to them (via Canada Post), or they can opt to have it shipped with the group order to the Squadron, which is free to them
If ordering online is not possible, paper order forms can be printed and filled out
Orders will be distributed to us on December 20

TOMORROW November 11th. 

This is a Mandatory Activity for all Cadets. 

Dress is full uniform and they may also wear their Overcoat Fleece overtop of their Tunics.

Cadets are to arrive at their respective location (Pitt Meadows or Maple Ridge) NO LATER than 1000 hrs, preferably by 0945 hrs. This activity is rain or shine. 

Cadets that live West of 207th Avenue towards Pitt Meadows (INCLUDING ALL BAND) and Langley will go to the Pitt Meadows Ceremony at Pitt Meadows Spirit Square and meet in the parking lot off 119B Avenue. It is unsure if the roads will be blocked off. The ceremony should be done between 1145-12pm at the latest.

Cadets that live East of 207th Street, (NOT the band) heading into Maple Ridge and surrounding areas will go to the Maple Ridge Ceremony. Cadets will meet at the Maple Ridge Legion at 12101 224th.

The roads in Maple Ridge will be blocked off by 0900 hrs. Parents can drop their cadets off in the parking lot of the Shoppers Drug Mart/Pet Smart mall at 0945-1000 hrs at Dewdney and 224th and the cadets can walk across the street. Cadets can be picked up from the Legion after the Ceremony between 1145-1200pm.

Operation FALL BACK 🏕🧭🪓 The Cadets last Operation FALL BACK 🏕🧭🪓

The Cadets last weekend had a great time at Allco Park!! They learnt valuable skills such as: how to use a compass, build a shelter, recite the phonetic alphabet, determine bearings on the map, construct ground-to-air signals and much more!! Great experience for all ages!!

Tues 1 Nov - Flight Night. 630-9pm Cadets that want to come down and learn how to do their uniforms bring your boots, polish, polishing clothes and uniforms and we can help you with any questions. If you're bring your uniforms and want assistance with ironing please bring your iron and ironing board. 

Tues 1 Nov -  UNIFORMS & COATS
This Tuesday 6:30 - 8:30pm is the last additional uniform session.  Please show up if you: 
- Don’t have a uniform
- Don’t have a 4 Season Parka (coat)
- Have pieces that don’t fit
- Capt Baldwin will help on a first come first serve basis. 

Thurs 3 Nov - Uniforms will be Field Training Uniform.

583 Coronation Squadron

583 Coronation Squadron is active from September to June, and meets each Thursday evening from 6:30pm to 9:30pm on the Albion Fair Grounds in Maple Ridge. All youth aged 12 to 18 years are welcome to join this youth-oriented program.
