1. All Cadets and Parents confirmed for Fam flying tomorrow morning have been emailed. Masks are required in the aircraft.
2. There were other cadets that indicted interest for Fam flying. If you received an email from Maj Taylor about Spare spots if any come available you will be contacted and will likely be last minute.
3. There are still spots available for Canoeing/Kayaking at Whonnock lake on Sunday. There are about 5 spots each for 10am-12pm and 1-3pm. If you are interested please sign up on the squadron website. Please wear clothing that can get wet. Please bring a water bottle. Cadets MUST arrive with the printed and signed parental waiver or they will not be allowed to participate. An email will be sent out later tonight to those signed up.
4. Range and Biathlon has not started yet. The barn is not available this weekend. The optional activities will be added to the Calendar and in the newsletter with their dates and times of when they will begin.
September 30th is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. It is a day to honour the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. It is a time to publicly commemorate the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process.

We just received notice of 18 spots for Familiarization Flying Saturday 01 OCT 2022 in the morning at Pitt Meadows Airport. Sign-up is limited to 18 Cadets (6 cadets for 1 hour each, 9-10, 10-11, & 11-12). Cadets must show up 15 mins before your shift. Preference will be given to Cadets that did not go flying in the last two years but if we are unable fill all the spots with returning cadets we will be happy to fly new recruits as well. 583 Coronation Squadron is active from September to June, and meets each Thursday evening from 6:30pm to 9:30pm on the Albion Fair Grounds in Maple Ridge. All youth aged 12 to 18 years are welcome to join this youth-oriented program.
