Biathlon Fitness Training

January 21 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm PST

 1300 – 1600 hrs. Commercial Barn at Albion Park. Dress is sports gear; dress for the weather (including a running jacket, hat and gloves) and bring a water bottle with water. Don’t forget to eat a light lunch with some simple carbohydrates (think fruit) beforehand so you have the fuel to run, but not get cramps. Bring a snack for after as well. Team roster:

Seniors: FSgt Antica (Team Captain, seniors), FCpl Han, Sgt Kim I, Sgt Moore, Sgt Szucs (2I/C seniors), Sgt Tian (3I/C seniors)

Juniors: A/Sgt Halstead (Team Captain, juniors), A/FCpl Tryon (2I/C juniors), A/FCpl Viscount (3I/C juniors), AC Zheng, AC Zhao, AC Zhan. Cadet participants are to run at least twice per week, 2km before the next training, and run on your own time if you can’t make the training session. Cadets can download “Map My Run” and it will record distance and time (there are other tracker apps such as Google Fit, Adidas Sports, Asics Runkeeper or Nike Run Club). Note that as part of your level training, you are supposed to track your physical activity anyway, using the Physical Activity Tracker available from the Sqn web page.

This Week: We will trade relays with the marksmanship cadets. They’ll shoot first while we do a 2 km warm up to go over the Albion park loop, then stretch. Then we’ll shoot a relay to sight air rifles. Then do another 2km loop at your personal competition pace. Shoot the next relay, and so on. Do one loop before each relay. We’ll do as many run & shoots as there is time available up to a max of 5 loops. Finish by 1600.
