Scholarships:
The two most prestigious courses in air cadets are the gliding and powered flight scholarship courses. To ensure they have the best opportunity to attend these courses, cadets who are planning to learn to fly through air cadets should discuss the options and requirements with their officers while they are at an early age.
Check the Air Cadet League website for descriptions of the other National Summer Camps and Scholarships available to cadets.
Flying and Gliding Scholarship Medicals:
A frequently asked question is which medical doctors can perform the flight medical that is required for these scholarship programs. Cadet candidates must obtain a medical examination performed by a “Transport Canada approved physician” by the end of March. A list of these examiners can be found on the Transport Canada web site. Each approved Medical Examiner will have the appropriate medical form that the cadet needs.
