Flying

Gliding

Familiarization flying in gliders takes place on select weekends at either Pitt Meadows, Abbotsford, or Langley airports. These flying opportunities are open to all cadets. Flights take place in two seat gliders owned by the Air Cadet League and operated by the DND. Interested cadets should check the Calendar of Events to determine when there are opportunities to go gliding.

Ground School

Ground school is the flight training that is held in the classroom rather than in an aircraft. Ground school training is held one evening per week during the first few months of the training year. Cadets who are potential candidates for the flying or gliding scholarship programs should be taking this course. Even cadets who don’t yet qualify, but are interested in the scholarship program, can take this course each year. Any interested cadets that are 14 or older, can sign up.
